Online Learning

We know that students need real-world practice to thrive as professionals upon graduating and taking their new skills into the workforce. That’s why we’ve built hands-on experience into our Online MSL — in the form of interactive exercises and practical projects, as well as live debates, presentations and breakout group discussions with fellow graduate students and in-person experiences. The online learning experience combines innovative technology, a carefully considered curriculum and active partnerships that fully prepare students to be the world-changing professionals they set out to be.

Class Size

Intimate class sizes (an average of fifteen per class).

Class Time

Our online learning environment blends asynchronous and synchronous instruction. Each course features a mix of independently completed work and live class sessions.

Class Structure and Feel

Readings, videos, individual assignments and group discussions and projects are integrated into a seamless whole. By completing coursework and assignments and readings prior to live class sessions, students are prepared and ready to engage in lively class discussions, in a “flipped model” approach to learning.

Learning Platform

Our learning management system (LMS), Canvas, serves as students’ centralized hub for all course content and activities — think of Canvas as your college campus. Our students use this system to manage everything from course content, course syllabi and assignments to communication with instructors and peers.

As a student, you will use Canvas to submit assignments, take quizzes and keep track of your schedule. You will be able to see your professor and vice versa during real-time discussions and lectures, and live class sessions can include polling, in-class chats and breakout rooms.

Additional functionalities of the online experience include audio and text commenting as well as participation and collaboration through asynchronous video.
